Art for Good

I am most fulfilled in my life when I am creating art and finding a way to share it for a positive cause. I am always looking for creative ways to spread the word about the power of art as therapy and the use of art as a means to inspire, support, engage, and uplift a community. Here is what I am currently working on:

Fortitude by Gina Baird

This painting is about my work as an art therapist and the amazing fortitude that I am witness to on a daily basis in my work as an art therapist.

Fortitude will be featured at the art show, “The Healing Power of Art,” hosted by Nickel Plate Arts in Noblesville, IN. Jan.2- Jan. 30, 2016. Opening reception and community art celebration is Jan. 8, 2016 6-9 pm.

How have you been courageous or brave in your life?  Make your mark during this powerful show by collaborating on a mixed media assemblage pen and contributing to a papier mache house front.

  • Attend the gallery opening and make art with me. At the opening I will lead a community art project. We will create a mixed media assemblage pen that will be the main art media used throughout the exhibition for an interactive project about fortitude. Participants are encouraged to bring tiny personal images, writings, text, found objects, swatches of material, charms, and beads, that we will to attach to the pen.
  • Visit the show as often as you can and embellish the papier mache house front with your brave stories, words, and images. My theme is fortitude. Please visit the show and embellish the hanging fort with how you have been courageous or brave in your life.
