Spontaneous Watercolor Paintings Inspired by the non-dominant hand- Self Supervision Guided by The Unconscious by Gina Baird, LMHC, ATR-BC
This workshop will focus on spontaneous art-making with the non-dominant hand as a way to facilitate exploration of clinical work. Gina Baird will share paintings that use this technique and discuss 3-5 benefits that utilize the non-dominant hand for process painting. Participants will create paintings using the technique and they will participate in an interactive discussion, reflecting on their art process and identifying at least three ways this technique will benefit their clinical work.
2013 Buckeye Art Therapy Association Regional Symposium: Creative Renewal and Process Painting 12:00-1:30pm
Gina M. Baird, LMHC, ATR-BC presents a process painting series funded by a creative renewal grant. The presentation will focus on counter-transference related to long-term clinical work with women survivors of trauma and the emotional and physical impact of that work. This presentation will explore the importance of using art to inform us in our clinical work both personally and professionally.
Branching Out to Self Care Workshop 3:30-5:00pm
