My Journey

I am a practicing psychotherapist and social worker with over 15 years of experience, and am passionate about working with others to provide skills, support, healing and hope.  I was raised in an immigrant household and was a first-generation college student. I grew-up in the Chicago area, then lived and worked on the East Coast for several years before settling in Seattle.  I received Bachelors Degrees in Social Work and Spanish from Hope College in 2005, and my Master of Social Work degree from Boston University in 2009.

In addition to my private practice, I am a part-time Lecturer at the University of Washington School of Social Work. I also work with the Boston University School of Social Work as a Facilitator and Field Advisor. I am a member of Perinatal Support Washington and The National Association of Social Workers (NASW).  I am a spouse, parent, sister, daughter and trusted friend. I enjoy kayaking, trying new foods and exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Throughout my career, I have provided psychotherapy to children, families and individuals.  I have worked in a variety of healthcare settings, including University of Washington Medical Center and Brigham & Women's Hospital, as well as community mental health centers.  My specialties include anxiety disorders, women's health issues, perinatal mental health, and other life transitions such as career, academic, and relationship changes.

I offer a non-judgmental, collaborative and compassionate approach to therapy, and practice using evidence-based therapeutic interventions.  I am deeply committed to providing culturally responsive psychotherapy and will strive to learn about your cultural identities with openness and respect while I continue to actively engage in ongoing personal and professional development to increase awareness of my own privileges and biases.
