My Journey
I am a practicing psychotherapist and social worker with over 15 years of experience, and am passionate about working with others to provide skills, support, healing and hope. I grew-up in an immigrant household in the Chicago area, and was the first person in my family to complete graduate school. I worked on the East Coast for several years before settling in Seattle. I received Bachelors Degrees in Social Work and Spanish from Hope College in 2005, and my Master of Social Work degree from Boston University in 2009. I also work with the Boston University School of Social Work as a Field Advisor, and am a member of Perinatal Support Washington and The National Association of Social Workers (NASW). In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading, hiking and exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
Throughout my career, I have provided psychotherapy to children, families and individuals. I have worked in a variety of healthcare settings, including University of Washington Medical Center and Brigham & Women's Hospital, as well as community mental health centers. My specialties include anxiety disorders, women's health issues, perinatal mental health, and other life transitions such as career, academic, and relationship changes.
I offer a non-judgmental, collaborative and compassionate approach to therapy, and practice using evidence-based therapeutic interventions. I am deeply committed to providing culturally responsive psychotherapy and will strive to learn about your cultural identities with openness and respect while I continue to actively engage in ongoing personal and professional development to increase awareness of my own privileges and biases.
